We have been running classes since June 17th and all is going well. We are going to continue our safety measures into the Fall season and follow all state guidlines and recommondations from the BOH and Dance/USA Task Force on Dancers Health.
Out of an abundance of caution, we are implementing the following procedures in order to keep our dancers, families, and faculty safe:
Front door drop off / pick up service for dancers
Enrolled dancers will be greeted at the front door by BDS staff and brought inside. Parents can pull up to the Drop off sign and let their dancer out of the car supervised by a BDS staff member. At the end of their program, dancers will gather their belongings with the assistance of an BDS faculty member, and be safely walked to the Pick up line and assisted into the car of the trusted adult responsible for picking them up. We ask that anyone picking up early give us email notification so we can have staff prepare them for early dismissal. We also ask that you email us if a non-parent is picking up your child. We will ask that adult to present us with a valid ID.
Mandatory Masks at Drop off and Pick Up
All dancers are required to wear a mask or face covering that properly fits upon entrance and exit of the facility. Our faculty will be wearing face masks when assisting students. Food will only be allowed for programs over 3 hours, during snack time, masks will not be worn. For snack time, a minimum of 6 feet of social distance will be observed by providing each camper with a marked space set up.
Frequent Hand Sanitizing
Upon entering and exiting the building, dancers will be asked to sanitize their hands. If dancers have to transition from one activity to the next, we will pause and take a hand washing break. Hands will also be washed before and after snack time.
Increased Sanitation Procedures
Each studio space will be equipped with a fully stocked sanitation cart. Each time dancers transition from one activity to the next, or a new class comes in we will take cleaning breaks and perform the following sanitation steps:
- Lysol Wipe all of the Ballet Barres + Door Handles
- Lysol items used in the previous activity and set them aside to dry
- Use aerosol sanitizing spray in the room while children are out of the room and washing their hands
- Lysol wipe all lobby surfaces prior to drop off and between all new classes.
- Lysol wipe all bathroom surfaces after the group has performed hand washing
- Lysol wipe all bathroom surfaces every hour
- Santitize the dance floor after each program.
We will be using floor markers to help them maintain a minimum distance of 3 feet apart during activities. We will have sections of the floor marked off to establish socially distant boundaries. Please talk to your children at home about the importance of social distancing and face coverings at home before sending them to dance.
Our children are and will continue to be the true heroes in this battle against COVID-19. We need to make sure they are prepared, physically and mentally, for changes as our state and businesses begin the long process to reopen safely.
