Each year Bridget's Dance Studio has an annual dance recital. This allows the students to showcase some of the great skills they have learned throughout the year. Every year we choose a different theme that pulls each class together to create a fun and enthusiastic show.
Each student enrolled after December must be in the recital. It teaches them stage presence, social skills, and focus.
There is always a dress rehearsal before the recital. This is when students have to opportunity to see some of the other class routines and feel comfortable with their own. Costumes must be worn at the dress rehearsal.
All students are required to purchase a costume for each style of dance for the recital. Costume payments are due the first week of January.
Individual and class pictures will be taken in costume ahead of the recital for parents and other family members to purchase. You may also order a professional video of the recital so you can keep the memory forever.
We are trying to go green so when the recital packet is available please download it below and read it in full for all details about the recital. Please make sure you have the correct location packet.
The children and I are very excited about the upcoming recital and they look forward to performing for their friends and family. Hopefully this packet contains all the information needed to make this experience a fun/ enjoyable and stress free occasion for all.
The following information will guide you through the recital events.
Please read this packet in its entirety. I believe it will answer all questions you may have. I want to thank you in advance for all of your help throughout this process. It is an exciting time for the children and we all appreciate everything you do as parents to make such a special occasion a success.
After you read all of the following information please feel free to contact me with any questions.
With sincere thanks,

RECITAL ORDERS/ PURCHASES
T-SHIRTS: An annual BDS t-shirt is designed and available for purchase. The t-shirt will have the recital theme logo on the front and each child's name on the back. The cost of T-shirts is $20, purchase is not mandatory. The deadline to submit the the t-shirt order form is Saturday, March 25th. The T-shirt is fitted and can run small. Sample sizes are available to try on at the studio.
RECITAL DVDs: There are two separate recitals. Performances will be edited into two different DVDs. No video recording is allowed during the recitals. DVDs will be delivered to your house within three weeks of the event. DVD’s can be ordered up until the dress rehearsals. A DVD form will be passed out closer to recital.
FLOWERS: Flowers can be ordered in advance for pick up at the recital. Order forms will be available at the studio as we get closer to recital. The bouquets are lovely and a percentage of each order will go toward a charity of the studios choice.
TICKETS: Tickets will be available for purchase online this year at tututix.com. Tickets for the recital will be sold for $20.00 each. The recitals will be held at Milton High School. The auditorium has stadium seating and all seats have an excellent view of the stage.
Each family will be able to purchase 6 tickets. Students that have been with BDS for over 5 years will be able to purchase their seats a week in advance and will receive a code to do so. After a certain date all tickets that have not been purchased will then go on sale to the public. Handicap seating will be identified when purchasing tickets online. Please only purchase handicap seating if mandatory. More information for ticket sales will be sent in a separate email.
IMPORTANT: The upper section of Milton High does require the use of stairs.
If any families must attend both shows (ex: have children performing in both recitals doing different routines or siblings in different recitals) they will not have to pay for their second show tickets. However, please let me know how many tickets you need for the second show so I can reserve them for you via email.
COSTUMES: All costumes are scheduled to be delivered to the studio by the third week of April. The costumes are customized and are delivered upon completion...please be patient, some will arrive sooner than others.
All students are measured and costumes are ordered in sizes that are closest to those measurements. Never-the-less, often times some minor alterations are needed so that the costumes will fit your child better. All classes have a mandatory costume-dress code. If you are not sure what color tights, socks, shoes, or hair style your students class is required to wear, please ask the class instructor or consult the costume board in the waiting room. Many undergarments are visible through the costume. Make sure your child has the proper undergarments. It is quite difficult to find the appropriate tights, undergarments, and dance shoes at regular retail stores. For your convenience the studio has these items available for purchase. Any special orders must be received by Saturday, March 25th.
CLASS RECITAL ASSIGNMENTS: Bridget's Dance Studio has more than 40 Families with multiple children enrolled. I have tried my best to assign siblings, and individual children that are in multiple performances to the same recital whenever possible. As you can imagine it is very difficult to accommodate everyone. Please accept my apology in advance if it turns out that you have to attend both recitals....I hope you enjoy both shows!

STUDIO REHEARSAL - Sunday, March 19th
We will be holding a mandatory studio rehearsal for all classes. This is not a costume rehearsal. The studio rehearsal is scheduled to practice the finale and opening number. Please understand that we need to work out the timing and spacing of all the children for these numbers. If everyone does not attend this rehearsal the finale may not work or present properly. This also helps the dress rehearsal to flow smoothly. Parents can drop off students at the studio. Rehearsal report times for both recitals are listed below. Children that are in both recitals* are required to stay for the entire time. We will make exceptions for First Communion and other special family events with adequate advance notification from you.
First Recital’s Studio Rehearsal - Sunday, March 19th
10:00 AM - 11:30 PM Location: Bridget's Dance Studio. BRAINTREE
Second Recital’s Studio Rehearsal - Sunday March 19th
DRESS REHEARSALS: Students should arrive at Milton High School by 4:00 PM dressed in their first costume. Once they place their costumes back stage in the cafeteria they should come out to the audience and sit with their class. As we get closer to the recitals there will be posters and brochures to let everyone know the order of the performances. Please bring all costumes because it is important for the students to get used to changing in a timely manner. We will practice the opening number and finale first, so once your childs class is entirely finished performing their dances they may leave.
Students are not allowed in the auditorium during the recitals.
There is no food or drink allowed in the auditorium at Milton High School. All food must be eaten in the cafeteria.
RECITALS: MILTON HIGH SCHOOL
Recital One - Saturday 5/20/17 4:00 PM
Recital Two - Sunday 5/21/17 4:00 PM
Please be at the school 1 hour before curtain call/start time. Children should arrive in their first costume, with hair and make up done and ready to go. Each student will have an assigned chair in the cafeteria. Please set up all of their additional costumes, accessories, shoes, make-up, other recital needs, and refreshments at their chair when you arrive. Students will stay in their last costume for the finale. Once the show starts we try to limit parents from coming in and out of the cafeteria, unless it is an emergency. At the time of drop off, please make sure the class helper is aware of any extraordinary circumstances about your child (i.e. such as sickness, food allergies, and medication). Please pack your child a nut free and mess free snack. Only water will be allowed to avoid staining costumes.
AUDITORIUM RULES: The auditorium doors will open at 3:00 PM for both Recitals. No food or drinks are allowed in the auditorium. No video cameras or still photos will be allowed during the recitals so that the dancers are not distracted by flashes, the professional videos lighting is not affected, and audience members are not disrupted while watching the show (pictures and video taping is allowed at the dress rehearsal). Please refrain from getting up from your seats during the recitals. If you must get up, please be respectful to the performers and other audience members and do so between performances, when the dance is over and the students are going on and off stage.
REGISTRATION FOR FALL 2017: The Fall 2017 registration fee will be waived if you register before April 30, 2017 . You do not have to fill out a registration form if you have already done so, unless your contact information, etc. has changed. You will be able to enroll for Fall classes through our online portal. The tentative schedule for next year will be available at the studio and on the web site at www.bridgetsdancestudio.com the week of April vacation. I will contact you if I believe the class you choose is not appropriate for your child's age and level. You will receive an email over the summer with information about the Open House and the first day of classes (which are always the same week that Braintree Public Schools begin). Most of all of our classes reached capacity this year. I expect that there will be limited space next year as well, so please register early to reserve your child's spot. Important: we will be transitioning to a automatic tuition payment next year. You may be asked to sign a waiver and submit a credit card to be saved on file if you have not already done so this year.
SUMMER CAMPS AND PROGRAMS: Don't forget about the great camps and classes that Bridget's Dance Studio offers over the summer. Registration for Summer of 2017 will open on April 1,2017. The summer schedule will be available at www.bridgetsdancestudio.com and you can register through our online portal.
EMAILS: If you have not been getting emails from the studio please make sure you check in at the front desk so that we can correct any problems with your email. Email is the best way for us to communicate with all the parents.
